Maserati Unveils Special FTributo Edition Honoring Maria Theresa de Philips

Updated 05:37 PM,Oct 17,2022

Maserati has unveiled the new limited-edition FTributo, inspired by its legendary racing heritage and available in the Ghibli and Levante models, honoring the bold and inspiring story of Maria Teresa de Filippis.

Maria Teresa de Filippis was the first woman to qualify for a Formula 1 Grand Prix, driving the Maserati 250F.

The exclusive FTributo edition, drawing inspiration from Maria Teresa de Filippis’s pioneering racing experience and Maserati’s racing lineage, is offered in limited numbers for the Ghibli and Levante, featuring two exclusive colors: Arancio Devil and Grigio Lamiera.

This special edition elevates sports cars to a new level, combining striking performance aesthetics with meticulous attention to detail that evokes the spirit of major race circuits. The distinctive Arancio Devil orange exudes energy and daring, reflecting Maria Teresa’s spirited personality.

Complementing the exterior luxury, the Levante FTributo features 21-inch Antio wheels, while the Ghibli FTributo is equipped with 21-inch titanium wheels in the new Grigio Opaco finish, harmonizing with the Arancio Devil hue. Additional details include cobalt blue accents on the wheel rims, a unique model badge on the rear spoiler, and the iconic three-pronged trident emblem on the rear diffusers.

In the Grigio Lamiera variant, the wheels are finished in high-gloss black, while other elements such as the special model badge and the trident emblem stand out in contrasting orange.

Inside the cabin, stitching in cobalt blue and orange complements the exterior finishes, blending seamlessly with either black or orange natural Benetton leather upholstery for a refined touch.

In October 1955, de Filippis competed in the 39th edition of the Targa Florio, co-driving a Maserati A6GCS alongside Luigi Fagioli, finishing ninth overall and fourth in the two-liter engine class. This milestone achievement marked a turning point, empowering her to pursue further challenges and break prevailing norms—becoming the first woman to compete in a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1958, again behind the wheel of a Maserati.

Sixty-seven years after this historic feat, Maserati launched the FTributo edition to celebrate the brand’s rich legacy and its outstanding victories on racetracks worldwide.

With elegant design, exceptional performance, and a suite of unique sporting features, the FTributo pays tribute to Maria Teresa de Filippis’s extraordinary successes with Maserati, reviving a timeless story embodying courage, determination, resilience, competition, and victory—both on the track and beyond—and a forward-looking spirit driven by resolve and ambition.
