Dubai's Smash Room: A Unique Demolition Experience

3 minutes to read· Updated 03:52 PM,Sep 24,2025

Who among us doesn’t occasionally need to break free from routine, release anger, and relieve mental stress—without harming others? Dubai is actively working to meet everyone’s needs through various means, including housing, recreational and utility facilities. Now, Smash Room Dubai aims to ease the intense mental pressure some people face. If you’re struggling with work-related issues, family problems, or everyday life challenges, we recommend visiting this new destination.

Founder of Dubai’s Smash Room Center

The Smash Room project in Dubai was launched through a collaboration between Mr. Ibrahim Abu Dik and a clinical psychologist who believes that smashing and breaking objects helps unleash inner anger, reduces all forms of tension, transforms negative emotions into positive ones, and restores emotional balance. Additionally, this unique activity offers physical benefits, burning around 80 calories in just five minutes.

Smash entertainment centers are already popular worldwide—in Canada, the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, and Texas. The Dubai location is the first of its kind in the Middle East region.

Design of Smash Room Dubai

A concrete room with unpainted walls and minimal decoration featuring wall murals that symbolize anger

The interior of Dubai’s smash room can be described as a raw concrete space with uncoated walls. Decorated with very simple artwork, the exterior features powerful mural paintings reflecting anger—created by an emerging artist without any restrictions on expression. The neon sign on the outside wall was custom-made in China. The room is also equipped with windows designed to capture video and photo footage of visitors as they vent their frustration.

Tools and Equipment

A variety of tools and items used for smashing selected objects

Smash Room Dubai carefully considers individual preferences. Visitors can choose what to smash—from glassware to televisions, computers, printers, and other non-functional electronics. Some guests even donate such items directly to the center.

Glass materials come from glass manufacturing plants producing defective or unusable pieces. Electronic waste is collected from warehouses storing damaged or broken equipment. Importantly, all materials destroyed are sorted and recycled for reuse. A metal recovery specialist visits the site weekly to extract large metal components from debris, while glass and plastic are sorted outside the room and sent to specialized recycling facilities.

The tools available include steel baseball bats, small and large hammers, axes, iron rods, cricket bats, large wrenches, and many other unconventional implements for breaking objects.

Personal Safety

Before entering the Dubai Smash Room—which is fully monitored by cameras for immediate response in emergencies—visitors are provided with safety gear: full-body protective suits with plastic chest shields, helmets with face guards, and gloves to prevent cuts or injuries. Closed-toe shoes are also recommended to protect feet from flying glass shards.
