Gold Assayer

Responsibilities: • Test and analyze gold samples (raw ore, processed material, bullion, etc.) to determine purity, karat, and other precious metal content. • Use techniques like fire assay, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), or inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analysis. • Ensure accuracy and precision in all assay results. • Maintain consistent documentation and reporting for test results. • Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials. • Document all procedures and test results in a detailed and organized manner. • Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations. • Ensure laboratory practices align with company and regulatory standards. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field (or relevant experience). • Expertise in gold assay techniques (e.g., fire assay). • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and laboratory procedures. • Good communication and report-writing skills.
