The role?  The primary responsibility is to support the deck operations on the client platform as per EnerMech processes and procedure and demonstrate safety leadership and continuous development in all aspects of crane, lifting and support service activities.  Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas Operate platform pedestal and overhead gantry cranes under the direction of nominated platform personnel and in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and platform operating procedures.  The crane operator should only respond to the instruction (signals) given by the Rigger or appointed Signaler, however he shall follow the Emergency Stop Signal from any one at site in case of any emergency.  Carry out daily pre-operational checks on the cranes in accordance with pre-use checklist.  The crane Operator shall also be responsible for reporting all defects noted during operation of the crane to the crane supervisor.  Able to set and check the functioning of the rated capacity limiter and rated capacity indicator.  Responsible for effectively carrying out scheduled planned maintenance routines up to (6 monthly) of all offshore pedestal and overhead cranes, with the objective of maintaining safe operations.  Maintain cranes in a clean and tidy condition, including cabs, machinery housing and external surfaces.  Carry out Platform Emergency Duties under the direction of nominated personnel.  Keep a logbook of crane operations.   In addition to crane maintenance duties, operate overhead cranes under the direction of nominated site personnel and in accordance with authorized operators instructions manual and site operating procedures.  When working overhead cranes, carry out daily routine on the crane in accordance with maintenance procedures and pre-start checklist.  Inspect the job site to ensure compliance with safe practices and procedures. Maintain quality of safety in the crane group and participate in the site safety reviews i.e. Near Miss Reporting/STOP cards.  Responsible for giving a detailed report of any crane incidents to the Crane Supervisor.  Requirements Must read and write English fluently. Be experienced, fully trained and competent in the operation and maintenance of offshore pedestal cranes.   Must have adequate understanding of the capabilities and limitations of each crane with regard to offshore operation, and of the various installed mechanisms, control and safety systems.   Educated to a minimum qualification of higher secondary school certificate or HNC or equivalent  qualification.  At Least a minimum of 5 years' experience in an offshore/onshore experience and a minimum of 3 years in similar position.  Have an Offshore Stage 3 Crane Operator certificate.   Must have sufficient general engineering knowledge of the lifting equipment to carry out routine maintenance and inspection routines up to 3 monthly PM.  Should assist mechanics and ad-hoc crew in completing, routine maintenance, major maintenance, troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance.  Should also be multi-skilled in other platform duties including operating firefighting equipment and undertaking fire standby duties, acting as slinger, Banks man/Signal man, Rigger and deck duties, when required.  Should complete reports, logs and other documentation, as required & shall maintain the cranes in clean condition, internally and externally.  Behaviors and Personal Qualities Essential:   Self-motivated.  Good Communication Skills  High standards of workmanship  Ability to work and react under pressure and tight deadlines  EnerMech is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive organisation. The Role?  The Ad-Hoc Crane Maintenance Mechanical Technician is responsible for carrying out the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of offshore crane mechanical systems, both on offshore platforms and in the onshore workshop. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting crane mechanical components offshore and performing disassembly, inspection, and reconditioning of crane parts in the onshore workshop. This position requires flexibility to alternate between offshore and onshore duties based on operational needs Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas Offshore Crane Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs on offshore cranes, winches, hoists, and related equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues on cranes, identifying faults in the hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, and taking corrective actions as necessary. Assist in the disassembly and assembly of crane components offshore, including gearboxes, hoists, brakes, drums, and hydraulic systems. Support the Offshore Crane Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring 5 Yearly Major Maintenance Overhauls are completed in a timely manner and downtime is minimized. Maintain accurate records of all offshore maintenance work, including work orders, inspection reports, and parts used. Collaborate with offshore personnel to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations while minimizing crane downtime. Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols during all mechanical maintenance activities offshore. Onshore Workshop (Crane Component Overhaul): Work in the onshore workshop to disassemble, inspect, and overhaul critical crane mechanical components such as gearboxes, hoists, drums, and winches. Lead the mechanical overhaul of crane components, ensuring parts are refurbished, repaired, or replaced as needed to meet operational and safety standards. Conduct thorough inspections of crane parts, identifying wear, damage, or potential failure points, and recommending necessary repairs or replacements. Assemble and test crane components after overhauling to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications and operational requirements. Ensure proper documentation of all work performed in the workshop, including inspection results, repairs, and parts replacements. Collaborate with other workshop team members to ensure timely and efficient completion of crane overhauls. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the workshop, adhering to all workshop safety standards and procedures. Assist in the management of spare parts inventory for crane components, ensuring parts are ordered and available as required. Support the onshore workshop in the disassembly, inspection, overhauling, and reassembly of crane components such as winches, hoists, drums, and gearboxes. Requirements Essential High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in mechanical, electrical, or crane maintenance fields are required. English Language (good writing and vocabulary).
