Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage project-related accounting, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and provide financial support for construction operations. This role plays a critical part in cost tracking, budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management across multiple construction projects. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate financial records for construction projects. Track project costs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure alignment with forecasts. Process accounts payable and receivable, including subcontractor payments and client billing. Prepare and submit progress billings and lien waivers. Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and project accounts. Monitor job costing and profitability analysis for ongoing projects. Support month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and construction-specific financial regulations. Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and procurement to maintain financial accuracy. Prepare and review financial statements and project reports. Manage WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules and provide variance analysis. Assist with audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification (preferred but not required). 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry. Familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Contractor, Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint). Strong knowledge of job costing, progress billing, and WIP reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
