About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Recovery Engineer to join our expert technical team. This is a board-level position for a master technician who can handle complex hardware failures, firmware corruption, and logical issues across a wide range of digital storage devices (iPhone, Mac & PCs, Samsung). Key Responsibilities Advanced Diagnostics: Perform in-depth diagnostics on a variety of failed media, including Hard Disk Drives (HDDs), Solid-State Drives (SSDs), mobile devices (phones, tablets), and complex RAID arrays to determine the precise cause of data loss. Clean Room Operations: Execute delicate mechanical repairs inside a Class 100 clean room environment, including head stack assembly replacements, platter swaps, and spindle motor repairs on all major HDD brands. Board-Level Repair & Micro-Soldering: Conduct intricate electronics work on PCBs, including component replacement, troubleshooting, and performing modifications to enable data access. SSD & Flash Recovery (NAND): Perform advanced chip-off recovery by physically removing NAND memory chips from SSDs, mobile phones, and flash drives. Reconstruct data by analyzing and correcting bit errors using specialized tools. Firmware Repair: Utilize the PC-3000 toolset to diagnose and repair firmware corruption, manipulate service area modules, and resolve system-level issues on HDDs and SSDs. Mobile Device Recovery: Employ advanced techniques (including ISP, JTAG, and chip-off) to bypass security and extract data from locked, damaged, or non-functional smartphones and tablets (iOS & Android). Complex Logical Recovery: Reconstruct data from severely corrupted file systems, formatted drives, and failed RAID/NAS/SAN volumes. Research & Development: Stay ahead of new storage technologies and develop novel recovery techniques to overcome emerging data loss challenges. Essential Skills and Qualifications Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience as a professional data recovery engineer. PC-3000 Mastery: Expert-level, demonstrable proficiency with the full ACE Lab PC-3000 toolset (PC-3000 Express/UDMA, PC-3000 Flash, PC-3000 SSD). Clean Room Expertise: Proven track record of successfully performing complex mechanical recoveries (head/platter swaps) in a professional clean room environment. Hardware Skills: Exceptional micro-soldering skills and extensive experience in board-level diagnostics and repair. Device Architecture Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the internal workings of HDDs, SSDs (NAND architecture, controllers), and mobile device storage. Versatility: Proven expertise in recovering data from a wide range of devices, including PCs, Macs, servers, smartphones, and tablets. Ability to perform advanced unlocking and access procedures on secured or encrypted devices as part of the recovery process. File Systems: Strong foundational IT knowledge and a deep understanding of file systems (NTFS, HFS+, APFS, EXT4, etc.) and data structures.
