Description

Job Summary The Quantity Surveyor will lead key elements of the site-based post contract delivery of our cost management activities having daily interaction with the rest of the AECOM site supervision team. They will be expected to work well as part of a team and autonomously and know when to reach back to the office / line manager for additional support. Job Duties To achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the firm. Ability to integrate with key members of the design team and Client team. Assist in evaluating claims. Preparation of financial updates and monthly cost reports. Assesses and value progress payments and change requests. Review and compare scopes of work, production rates, and cost data. Preparation of earned value reports. Prepare, review, and update cash-flows. Estimate variation orders for Contractors/Subcontractors. Evaluate and negotiates variations and change orders in liaison with the Contract Administrator, Design and Construction Teams. Evaluate and negotiate final accounts settlements. Qualification Must have a QS or Engineering degree or similar equivalent Minimum 7 years of experience in quantity surveying for infrastructure projects Specific Skills Required High level of literacy skills in English. Arabic speaking considered a benefit. Excellent working knowledge of industry best practices To lead our commercial team on a major Infrastructure project Knowledge of cost and contract management techniques, budget management and change control Ability to present confidently Ability to act with discretion and safeguarding confidentiality of project data. Computer Literate, with specific experience in Cost Management software programs Person Specification (Personality Attributes) A dynamic, forward thinking person with the skills to self manage and manage others Presentable and personable, this individual will be a team player and comfortable with working in a large team and dynamic environment. Build successful working relationships with internal departments Ability to handle multiple tasks and establish priorities for the timely completion of work. High level of professionalism, initiative and creativity. Problem solving/lateral thinking skills.

Inspector - Civil
Job Description AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil Inspector for a major Roads and Infrastructure project located in Dubai. The role involves both inspection and the supervision of roads and infrastructure works of the project. To ensure that the activities are being executed in accordance with the project specification. Job Duties Be familiar with the project’s contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures together with any associated updates. Ensure the contractor/s compliance with the standards and specifications of the contract documents. Maintain records of the contractor human and equipment daily resources. Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE). Liaise and daily follow up with the contractor. This is to ensure the contractor is managing its resources, health and safety, and equipment needs on the site. Prepare daily report to the RE or ARE. This includes works orders, materials delivery, and daily inspections program. Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and ARE. Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site. Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE or ARE for pipes alignments and levels. Co-ordinate and co-operate with client project manager during their site inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE. Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant records. Assist the ARE and RE in the preparation of any correspondences in compliance with the contract documents and site requirements. Where site problems are found, work with the RE or ARE to resolve them promptly. Monitor the start-up, commissioning and handover of the site works. Including maintaining records of the project milestones. Maintain records of materials tests performed and executed works. Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering RTA Approval is preferred Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience within similar projects, with minimum 3 years in UAE.
