Job Title: Hotel Accountant Location: Dubai, UAE Department: Finance / Accounting Reports To: Finance Manager / Financial Controller ______________ Job Summary: The Hotel Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, maintaining compliance with UAE regulations and hotel policies, and supporting the finance team in budgeting and reporting. ______________ Key Responsibilities: • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions accurately in accordance with standard accounting principles. • Prepare daily revenue reports and reconcile room and outlet revenues with POS and PMS systems. • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Monitor cash flow, petty cash, and bank reconciliations. • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Coordinate with external auditors and assist in audit processes. • Ensure compliance with VAT and other UAE financial regulations. • Support payroll processing in coordination with HR. • Track and manage inventory, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules. • Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis reports. • Liaise with department heads to ensure effective cost control. ______________ Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Professional accounting certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) is an advantage. • Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience in the hospitality industry. • Familiarity with hotel systems like Opera, Sun Systems, Micros, or similar. • Good knowledge of UAE VAT laws and local compliance requirements. • Strong MS Excel and financial reporting skills. • High attention to detail and organizational skills. • Proficient in English; Arabic is a plus. ______________ Working Conditions: • Based on-site at the hotel premises in Dubai. • May require working extended hours or weekends during reporting periods.
