JOB PURPOSE Take over the Installation, and integration of the lighting within retail shopfitting furniture, including power calculations, ballast selection, and internal wiring solutions, while leading comprehensive electrical maintenance operations across all factory systems / machines to ensure continuous production and optimal electrical performance. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • High School Diploma plus a technical certificate, ITI, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, or Industrial Maintenance. • Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, or commercial settings, experience with LED lighting installations and shop fit power wiring. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead the installation and wiring of LED fixtures within furniture—perform load calculations, select suitable ballasts or drivers, and ensure correct routing and terminations. • Coordinate with machine suppliers for service, calibration, and technical support related to electrical integrations in furniture production. • Execute general, preventive, corrective, and emergency electrical maintenance across factory systems (lighting, panels, controls). • Perform basic machine setup, cleaning, inspection, and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools (multimeter, ammeter). • Inspect electrical installations and shop-fittings to verify quality, alignment, and safety compliance. • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, work orders, and panel layouts. • Maintain logs of maintenance, installations, and service interactions; report any deviations to the supervisor. • Enforce electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures, and wear PPE according to standards. Glass Fitter & Technician Role Summary: A Glass Fitter installs and fits glass into windows, doors, partitions, facades, and other structures, ensuring precision, safety, and quality standards. Measure, cut, and install glass panels in aluminum, wooden, or steel frames. Fit glass using adhesives, sealants, putty, gaskets, or mechanical fasteners. Ensure alignment and leveling of glass for a proper finish. Handle glass sheets safely using appropriate tools Install mirrors, shower enclosures, partitions, and balustrades. Carry out on-site installations as well as shop-based fittings. Follow safety procedures and wear proper PPE. Operate machines for edge polishing, bevelling, cutting, etc. Perform precise cutting and shaping of glass panels as per specifications. Inspect and ensure quality control of glass (defect-free surfaces, correct size). Repair chipped or cracked glass using resin or replacement. Apply tinting films, laminations, or coatings when required. Work with toughened, laminated, double-glazed, or special glass types. Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment. Glass Assistant A Glass Helper supports glass fitters and technicians in transporting, handling, and preparing glass materials and tools. Assist in loading, unloading, and moving glass panels safely. Clean glass surfaces before and after installation. Hold or support glass during fitting and alignment. Prepare tools, sealants, and fixings for the fitter/technician. Keep the work area clean and organized. Follow instructions from supervisors and comply with safety rules.
