Description

The FCY Cashier is responsible for accurately buying and handling foreign currencies from customers in a secure, compliant, and customer-focused manner. The cashier serves as the first point of contact at the counter and plays a key role in delivering a professional and trustworthy experience that reflects the standards of First Gulf Exchange Center. Key Responsibilities: 1. Buy foreign currencies from customers as per the approved company rates and limits. 2. Authenticate currency notes (using UV detectors and manual verification techniques) and report any suspicious or counterfeit notes immediately. 3. Accurately process transactions using the company’s Remitex system, ensuring proper data entry and adherence to transaction limits. 4.Handle physical cash with caution and ensure the counter is always balanced. 5. Maintain clear and polite communication with customers, providing service that meets the company's high standards. 6. Comply with AML/CFT regulations, KYC procedures, and internal operational policies. 7. Report any irregular or suspicious transactions to the Head Cashier or Compliance Team. 8. Ensure the cash drawer is locked and secure at all times. 9. Maintain a clean, professional, and organized counter workspace. 10. Wear the official uniform, name tag, and maintain proper grooming at all times. 11. Coordinate with the Head Cashier for cash top-ups or excess cash handovers during the shift. 12. Assist in end-of-day cash reconciliation and documentation. 13. Adhere to break timings and reporting protocols as set by the company. 14. Participate in mandatory internal training sessions and refresher programs. Qualifications & Skills Required Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a similar cashiering or customer service role (preferably in an exchange house or financial institution). Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or additional languages is an advantage. Skills: 1. Strong numerical and cash-handling skills 2. Attention to detail and high accuracy 3. Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments 4. Knowledge of foreign currencies and basic exchange rate concepts 5. Professional demeanor and customer service orientation 6. Basic understanding of AML/KYC requirements is a plus
