The third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan has been unveiled by Volkswagen Middle East at the Geneva International Motor Show in Qatar, marking its global debut outside Germany. The Tiguan is one of Volkswagen's most successful models worldwide, with over 7.6 million units sold since its initial launch in 2007.
Matthias Ziegler, CEO of Volkswagen Middle East, said: "The Tiguan has achieved remarkable success for Volkswagen globally and particularly in the Middle East region. It has proven to be the ideal SUV for our customers here, enabling them to enjoy an active lifestyle while delivering a distinctive driving experience through advanced technology and elegant design."
The compact SUV features a completely new design, with a bold front end highlighted by flat LED headlights and a horizontal glass-covered strip. The air intake grilles are now positioned on the outer sides of the bumper, ensuring optimal airflow for engine cooling.
The Tiguan's interior stands out as a key feature, showcasing premium materials and precise craftsmanship. The newly redesigned cabin enhances usability and exudes elegance and fluidity. The dashboard includes a modern digital cockpit (digital instruments with anti-reflective coating resembling tablets), a 15-inch infotainment screen with a refreshed graphical interface, and a new head-up display projecting speed and other notifications. A new multi-function drive mode button with a built-in OLED screen allows control over driving modes, radio volume, and ambient lighting colors.
The Tiguan was officially revealed at the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg on September 19 and previously appeared in camouflage at the International Motor Show in Germany last August. This marks the first time the third generation of the Tiguan is being showcased outside Germany and its debut at a major auto exhibition.
