Škoda has announced the arrival of its new compact SUV, the Kushaq, including the premium 'Kushaq Monte Carlo' trim level, in the Middle East region. This marks the latest addition to the wide range of vehicles available locally from the renowned Czech automaker. The new model will be available for purchase in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates starting early in 2024.
The Monte Carlo variant, inspired by motorsport culture, will take the top spot within the Kushaq lineup. It is expected to attract young, adventure-seeking drivers looking for an affordable SUV with a sporty design and high-value features.
Over the past 15 years, Škoda has built a strong reputation in the region through reliable local dealerships. Now, by establishing a dedicated regional office in Dubai, UAE, the brand is intensifying its focus on the Middle East, bringing a curated selection of vehicles that combine European quality with competitive pricing.
The Škoda Kushaq is a compact SUV that expands the brand’s full SUV portfolio, targeting customers who value performance and affordability. With a starting price of 59,900 AED inclusive VAT (subject to country of sale), it is positioned to capture a significant share of the market. The newest addition to the Kushaq family, the Monte Carlo edition, draws inspiration from motorsport heritage and marks Škoda’s first vehicle in the region to feature this iconic badge.
The Monte Carlo emblem has been part of Škoda’s legacy since 1936, originally introduced to celebrate the company’s success and passion for motorsports following its victory at the famous Monte Carlo Rally. The Monte Carlo trim offers a distinctive sporty aesthetic inspired by the excitement and atmosphere of elite motorsports, seamlessly blending Škoda’s signature values of value for money, practicality, comfort, and versatility.
The Kushaq Monte Carlo trim has been redesigned to enhance a sense of personalization and sporty identity. Exclusive design elements include new 17-inch dual-tone Vega alloy wheels with silver calipers, Monte Carlo badging on side sills and door scuttles, a unique radiator grille, front and rear air splitters, and glossy black door mirror covers.
The Monte Carlo trim includes all standard features found across other Kushaq models, such as a 6-speaker audio system, smartphone connectivity, multiple charging options, and a new red-themed virtual cockpit. It also comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver-focused safety and convenience features, including six airbags, tire pressure monitoring, parking distance control, hill hold assist, and a rearview camera.
The Kushaq is powered by a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 85 kilowatts (114 horsepower). Torque is amplified through a modern, quick-shifting 6-speed transmission, which transfers power to the front wheels via a lightweight front-wheel-drive layout. These components work together harmoniously to deliver exceptional driving pleasure while maintaining an impressive fuel efficiency of 16.8 km/L.
In response, Lukáš Honzák, Executive Director at Škoda Middle East, said: “The Middle East represents an ideal market for Škoda. Our models align perfectly with regional customer expectations, offering European quality, innovative smart features, and outstanding value. Specifically for the Kushaq family, we’re setting a new benchmark for the brand’s presence in the region—targeting ambitious young drivers who explore daily, seek individuality, and want real value from their Škoda experience.”
