Polestar announced the availability of the entertainment service Prime Video on board the pioneering Polestar 2, a vehicle renowned for its advanced infotainment and entertainment systems. The car was the first in the market to feature Google's Android Automotive OS with built-in Google functionality when launched in 2019. This new service follows the earlier launch of the YouTube app in June 2023, enabling passengers to stream video content while the vehicle is charging or parked.
Polestar has collaborated with various suppliers since the debut of its first vehicles to develop useful applications for drivers, including Waze, EasyPark, A Better Routeplanner, AccuWeather, Range Assistant, Journey Log, and a performance app tailored for dual-motor models.
Since December 2021, Polestar vehicles have included the Vivaldi web browser, allowing passengers access to additional entertainment services not yet integrated directly into the car’s system.

The integration of Android Automotive OS in the Polestar 2, developed in close collaboration with Google, lays the foundation for future Polestar models. The upcoming Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 will feature an advanced interface with larger screens and enhanced capabilities. Apps developed for the Polestar 2 are expected to be available on future models as well.
