Peugeot ME Launches Region's First Fully Electric Fleet with DHL Express

Updated 05:25 PM,Mar 13,2023

Pugeot Middle East, a part of the Stellantis group, has announced today that it will supply DHL Middle East with the region’s first fully electric fleet of light commercial vehicles (LCVs). Pugeot is the only company in the Middle East offering a complete range of fully electric LCVs, reinforcing its leadership in electric mobility and zero-emission vehicles, and helping it exceed customer expectations.

Under the agreement with DHL, Pugeot will deliver a range of fully electric e-Partner and e-Expert vehicles across the region, with the initial batch launching in the UAE before rolling out to other regional markets. Light commercial vehicles typically travel far more than passenger cars, so replacing fuel-powered models with fully electric alternatives will significantly reduce noise, eliminate emissions, and remove unpleasant odors—enhancing urban health and environmental sustainability while advancing Pugeot’s ambitious strategic plan, "DARE FORWARD 2030".

Commenting on the partnership, Nirej Kumar, Executive Director of European Brands at Stellantis Middle East, said: "In 2022, Pugeot led the European market in the B segment for fully electric vehicles, both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The company remains committed to achieving its ambitious electric mobility goals in the Middle East. Our collaboration with DHL will help shape a new future for logistics services in the region, united by a shared commitment to building a more sustainable transportation future and achieving zero emissions for our communities and future generations. This agreement reflects our dedication to advancing electric mobility in the region and underscores Stellantis’ leadership in climate action initiatives."

Recently, Pugeot launched the "E-LION" project, which outlines the brand’s strategy as a leader in electric vehicles and ensures alignment with societal values. Pugeot’s approach to electric mobility is a thoughtful response to evolving global demands, grounded in five core pillars: comprehensive ecosystem, user experience, electric technology, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

During a visit to the Middle East in 2022, Pugeot’s Global CEO, Linda Jackson, confirmed the company is on track to meet its ambitious electric vehicle targets. All Pugeot models this year will be electric, and by 2025, the entire new Pugeot lineup will be fully electric. By 2030, 100% of Pugeot vehicles sold in Europe will be fully electric.

This partnership with DHL follows the recent memorandum of understanding signed between Stellantis Middle East and Siemens to develop smart electric vehicle charging infrastructure technologies across the region. This includes creating integrated solutions for customers and advancing the development of electric delivery vehicles in Middle Eastern markets.

As a subsidiary of the Stellantis group, Pugeot is committed to delivering clean, safe, and affordable mobility innovations for its customers and employees, safeguarding the planet’s future. Through the group’s "DARE FORWARD 2030" strategy, Stellantis aims to become an industry leader in combating climate change impacts, achieving net-zero emissions by 2038, and reducing emissions by 50% by 2030.
