Nissan unveiled the all-new 2023 Nissan Z for the first time in the Middle East region last night, captivating car enthusiasts and Z model aficionados alike with its striking design and advanced technology. The exclusive launch event in Dubai brought together top executives, partners, media representatives, and employees, featuring the highly anticipated seventh generation of the iconic sports car, attended by Nissan’s brand ambassador and senior vehicle development lead, Hiroshi Tamura.
The Nissan Z embodies the brand’s passion and commitment to driving pleasure, continuing a legacy of Japanese performance excellence since 1969. Since its global debut over 50 years ago, the Nissan Z has earned an outstanding reputation for power, performance, exhilarating driving dynamics, and competitive pricing.
The all-new 2023 Nissan Z, with a heritage spanning more than five decades, is the most powerful version yet, delivering 400 horsepower. Its design was shaped by feedback from legendary racing drivers, ensuring an engaging driving experience. The car is available with either a six-speed manual transmission featuring an EXEDY high-performance clutch and a carbon-fiber shift lever, or a completely new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Tyriq Sabagh, President of Nissan Saudi Arabia and Middle East Infiniti, and CEO of Nissan Middle East, hosted the event, which also featured the world’s first temporary Nissan Z museum. Attendees were taken on a journey through time to explore the evolution of this sports car across the decades, highlighting its rich Japanese heritage.
During the exclusive event, Tyriq Sabagh said: “The Nissan Z is a beloved symbol in the Middle East and an essential part of our distinguished lineup in the region. We are proud to introduce this latest iteration to our valued partners and loyal customers across the region, reflecting our brand’s core promise of exceptional innovation. Each generation of this iconic model has redefined automotive benchmarks, attracting ever-growing numbers of drivers eager for thrilling experiences. The Nissan Z stands as another testament to our commitment to delivering safer, more connected, and more enjoyable driving experiences—rooted in three fundamental pillars: heritage, design, and excitement.”
Meanwhile, Hiroshi Tamura, one of the industry’s leading automotive experts with decades of experience working alongside the Nissan Z development team and who led the seventh-generation Z project, said: “The Nissan Z is a cornerstone of our company identity for over 50 years. The all-new seventh-generation model is the result of remarkable teamwork, proudly sharing the vision behind this legendary sports car with today’s and tomorrow’s driving enthusiasts. It blends modernity with tradition, drawing inspiration from past models while strengthening the timeless bond between driver and machine—a connection that has defined the Nissan Z for over half a century.”
The all-new 2023 Nissan Z features a refreshed and elegant exterior design that honors the model’s heritage, rooted in the classic rear-wheel-drive sports car silhouette. It is available in nine exterior colors, including six dual-tone options, with a long hood, a lowered rear end, and a cabin reminiscent of the original Fairlady 240Z.
Designed inspired by the form and finish of a katana sword, the new Nissan Z showcases silver accents on the roof to emphasize the lower body profile and the fluid lines of the cabin. The new three-dimensional LED rear lights combine cutting-edge technology with design cues drawn from the famed Nissan 300ZX.
The interior of the 2023 Nissan Z, available in multiple color options including a dual sport finish, blends modern technology with authentic Z character. The center console design draws inspiration from previous Z generations, featuring three analog gauges and climate controls positioned near the transmission. A 12.3-inch customizable digital instrument cluster provides all essential driver information at a glance, including a red gear shift indicator at the 12 o’clock position, inspired by contemporary race cars.
The steering wheel and seats are inspired by the R32 GT-R, incorporating insights gained during GT-R development. Extensive use of leather on the seatbacks helps reduce initial lateral body movement, enhancing comfort and minimizing body motion during high-speed driving.
For decades, the Nissan Z has been known for its deep connection between driver and machine, a trait maintained in the new model. It is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 400 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 475 Nm of torque from 1,600 to 5,600 rpm.
The all-new Z models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission feature, for the first time in a rear-wheel-drive Nissan, an advanced launch control system that optimizes acceleration and wheel spin. The nine-speed automatic transmission delivers immediate responsiveness and an exhilarating driving experience. Semi-automatic transmissions made from aluminum further enhance excitement, offering standard and sport driving modes tailored to the driver’s preference.
The 2023 Nissan Z comes equipped with innovative safety and driver-assistance technologies, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, lane departure prevention, reverse alert, high-beam assist, and forward collision warning.
Beyond advanced safety and convenience features, the new Nissan Z includes a Bose® audio system with eight speakers, an 8-inch touch-screen navigation display, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
Nissan boasts a rich history in the Middle East, spanning over 50 years. Enthusiasts in the region celebrate this legendary sports car’s impressive capabilities, having achieved a Guinness World Record for the longest double drift in the UAE.
The all-new 2023 Nissan Z is now available through Nissan dealerships across the Middle East.
