Maserati's New Grecale Proves Its Mettle in Snow and Ice

Updated 10:01 PM,Jan 27,2022

Maserati continues testing prototype models of the Grecale in cold conditions across Sweden, where the vehicles demonstrated exceptional performance despite challenging weather and slippery icy roads.

The tests confirmed that snow and ice cannot compromise the Grecale's performance. Prototypes were evaluated for launch control and drivability under extreme temperatures, assessing vehicle dynamics on mixed surfaces—frozen asphalt covered with snow—while ensuring maximum cabin comfort in all weather conditions, from just above freezing to as low as -30 degrees Celsius in Lapland.

Additionally, the tests aimed to fine-tune traction, oversteer, and understeer capabilities across various driving modes and wheel sizes and types, thoroughly analyzing each driving configuration individually.

The Grecale stands out even in harsh conditions, excelling on slippery tracks by completing multiple laps with outstanding precision across diverse courses—from basic test drives to the most demanding routes featuring sharp turns, steep inclines, and long stretches blanketed in snow or ice.

With its ability to perform consistently across varied terrains and under extreme cold, the Grecale proves highly capable even on snow-covered roads.
