The Defender 130 is available with a powerful and efficient electric hybrid powertrain, including the P300 and P400 petrol mild-hybrid six-cylinder engines, as well as the D250 and D300 six-cylinder Ingenium engines.
Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology supports Land Rover’s six-cylinder Ingenium engines, delivering smooth responses and improved fuel efficiency. A 48-volt integrated starter-generator (BiSG) harvests energy typically lost during braking and deceleration, storing it for later use in the journey, while enabling faster and more efficient engine start-stop operation.

Every Defender 130 comes standard with Land Rover’s intelligent all-wheel drive (iAWD) system and an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The iAWD technology efficiently manages the drivetrain and intelligently distributes power between the front and rear axles, optimizing both on-road efficiency and off-road capability as needed.
The electronic air suspension allows up to 430 mm of ground clearance, with an additional 71.5 mm of lift at the front (73.5 mm at the rear) for off-road driving, helping clear obstacles and aiding in water wading—this new Defender 130 model can handle water depths of up to 900 mm.
