Al-Futaim Toyota is pleased to announce the launch of the new, completely redesigned Land Cruiser Prado in the UAE. This iconic vehicle has long reigned supreme among off-road vehicles, delivering reliable performance across more than 70 years and in 190 countries, earning its reputation as one of the most powerful four-wheel-drive vehicles ever made.
Since its debut in 1951, the Land Cruiser model has consistently delivered exceptional driving experiences even in the harshest conditions. The Land Cruiser Prado joined the Land Cruiser family in 1985, offering the same high-performance standards as its predecessors but with a smaller size and lighter weight.
Commenting on the introduction of the fifth-generation Prado, Jack Brent, Managing Director of Al-Futaim Toyota, said: "We are thrilled to bring the new Land Cruiser Prado to the UAE. This legendary four-wheel-drive vehicle is a cornerstone of Toyota’s rich heritage, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to reliability, durability, and strength."
Brent added, "With its spacious and practical design, this vehicle meets the needs of families and business owners throughout the UAE. It empowers adventurers to explore the stunning mountains and breathtaking deserts of the country. Moreover, it supports the UAE’s economic momentum by providing a durable, dependable vehicle at an accessible price point—ideal for fleets in both the public and private sectors."
He concluded, "Al-Futaim Group aligns with Toyota’s vision of providing mobility and happiness for all. The 2024 Prado model embodies this mission through a design that returns to the roots of the Land Cruiser, delivering a simple yet rugged vehicle that offers a practical solution tailored to diverse customer needs."
The new Land Cruiser Prado upholds classic design principles—from bold horizontal lines to its iconic appearance and robust interior—truly capturing the essence of an off-road-ready vehicle.
Powered by Toyota’s New Global Architecture GA-F platform, shared with the Land Cruiser 300, the vehicle’s body is built directly onto the platform, resulting in 50% greater rigidity and a 30% improvement in handling and driving comfort—whether on paved roads or rugged terrain. This platform reflects Toyota’s traditional values of structural quality, safety, and an enjoyable driving experience.
To deliver an even more engaging drive, the Land Cruiser Prado features a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine generating 267 horsepower and 430 Newton-meters of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This setup balances strong performance with environmental efficiency.
The new Land Cruiser Prado comes equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems for various terrains, making it the most technologically advanced, safe, and user-friendly four-wheel-drive vehicle in the region. These systems help both experienced and novice drivers maximize the vehicle’s capabilities, including a front and rear differential lock for enhanced off-road traction. Thanks to its wheel articulation, the vehicle achieves superior ground coverage on uneven surfaces.
The Prado offers six driving modes, including the new AUTO mode, which intelligently adapts to different road conditions such as sand, rock, gravel, and mud. It also features a crawl control function that enhances off-road capability.
Additionally, the vehicle helps drivers assess their surroundings through the Multi-Terrain Monitoring (3D-MTM) system, using four cameras to provide a comprehensive view during Multi-Terrain Select mode, enhancing confidence and safety when navigating at low speeds.

Moreover, the 3D-MTM system provides a real-time view of the area beneath the vehicle. By pressing a button on the screen while parked, the front camera displays the underside. The rear under-vehicle camera shows a magnified view of the area around the rear wheels when reversing.
Furthermore, the new Land Cruiser Prado is the first model to feature Electric Power Steering (EPS), which reduces steering wheel loss of control on rough terrain, ensures smoother handling, improves maneuverability at low speeds, and activates Lane Tracing Assist. The Switchable Differential Mount (SDM) allows the front differential to be adjusted with a single button press, ensuring driver and passenger comfort on rough roads and stability on paved roads.
The Land Cruiser Prado blends smooth handling, generous passenger and cargo space, and a minimalist, durable design that simplifies maintenance and modifications. Its exterior exudes strength and stability, while the interior features premium, eco-conscious materials. The result is a perfect fusion of heritage and modernity—a fully equipped off-road vehicle that gives drivers confidence in even the toughest conditions.
Designers prioritized everyday durability, especially in the front section, incorporating replaceable bumper elements and top-mounted, centrally positioned headlights. These features address the areas most prone to impact, a hallmark of all Land Cruiser models. Together, they define the Prado’s distinctive look—wide stance, extended front and rear fenders, and a taut body structure that enhances stable road performance.
To ensure optimal forward and side visibility, the Prado’s engine hood is designed with a lower center to minimize blind spots, while raised sides assist the driver in gauging the vehicle’s angles. Side visibility is further improved with a more upright A-pillar, door-mounted mirrors, and a 30 mm longer seat belt strap compared to the previous model. Front and rear corners are tapered to enhance control, while the lower door panels feature curved, textured surfaces that reduce damage from debris and complement the vehicle’s sleek appearance.
The cabin design emphasizes safety, durability, and passenger comfort to reduce fatigue for both driver and passengers. Strong horizontal lines on the instrument panel and upper door trims aid in vehicle guidance and provide excellent road visibility. Control buttons are either unified electric toggle switches or intuitive push buttons, designed to be used without diverting attention from the road, developed with input from professional rally drivers. Digital design techniques create a seamless contrast between rigid, functional spaces and soft, tactile surfaces, adding harmony to the interior. Features include knee pads on both sides of the driver’s seat to maintain proper posture on rough terrain, and a dedicated handrest for stable screen operation.
The new Land Cruiser Prado strikes a balance between durability, safety, and comfort, featuring a wide array of advanced amenities. These include wireless smartphone charging, a multimedia system compatible with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, a 12.3-inch color digital instrument cluster, a color heads-up display (HUD), a three-zone automatic climate control system with rear air vents, a 10-speaker audio system, and power-adjustable multi-position seats in both front and rear rows with ventilation. The front seats split 60/40, while the third-row seats can be fully folded flat.
Like all Toyota vehicles, passenger safety remains paramount in the new Land Cruiser Prado, equipped with Toyota Safety Sense—an advanced suite of safety technologies. This includes the Pre-Collision System (PCS) with enhanced features such as collision avoidance support, deceleration assistance activated during sudden acceleration at low speeds, and emergency steering assist.
The package also includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with high-speed driving mode and features like early detection of approaching vehicles and automatic speed reduction around curves, Lane Tracking Assist (LTA), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and Adaptive High Beam System (AHS).
In addition, the new Land Cruiser Prado comes fully equipped with a comprehensive set of safety features, including eight airbags—side curtain airbags protecting occupants in all three rows—as well as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Parking Brake Assist (PKSB), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Multi-Terrain Monitoring (MTM) including Panoramic View Monitor (PVM).
The vehicle also features Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), Safe Exit Assist (SEA), Downhill Assist Control (DAC), Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS), seatbelt pretensioners, force limiters for front occupants, and a smart sonar system to prevent collisions, equipped with eight sensors distributed across the front and rear bumpers.
The new Land Cruiser Prado will be available in eight distinctive exterior colors, allowing customers to express their individuality and style. These include bronze, dark gray, smoked blue with a light gray roof, pearl white, black, and a newly developed sandy hue with a light gray roof.
The interior is offered in dark brown, black, or beige. The vehicle also features 18-inch alloy wheels in two distinct designs—one optimized for superior off-road performance, the other showcasing an elegant and practical aesthetic.
