Updated 01:46 PM,Dec 7,2022

Jaguar Cars UAE, the local importer of Jaguar vehicles in the UAE, is presenting a unique and unprecedented exhibition across the Middle East and North Africa region, celebrating the iconic C-Type and D-Type models revived by Jaguar Classic. The event is being held at the company's showroom in Dubai and at Premier Motors in Abu Dhabi.

The exhibition at the Sheikh Zayed Street showroom in Dubai ran from November 21 to 24, drawing large crowds to witness the legendary C-Type, which made history in 1951 as the first Jaguar to win the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans race, breaking all speed and distance records on its debut attempt. It was accompanied by the equally iconic D-Type, which secured three consecutive victories in the Le Mans endurance race between 1955 and 1957. The showcase then moved to Premier Motors in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, where it continued from December 4 to 6.

On this occasion, Ashok Khanna, CEO of Al Tayer Motors, said: "It is both an honor and a pleasure to host these newly revived C-Type and D-Type models at our showrooms in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover Middle East. We have always aimed to create exceptional experiences for our customers and car enthusiasts alike—these two models offer a rare glimpse into a golden era of automotive history that captivated millions worldwide since their original production."

Jaguar Classic is meticulously recreating these two beautiful vehicles using authentic specifications that amazed the world in the 1950s, giving car lovers the opportunity to own these rare icons. The new versions will be handcrafted at the modern Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works facility in Warwickshire, UK, spanning 14,000 square meters and featuring 54 independent workshops, a dedicated engine workshop, a disassembly area, and space to accommodate up to 480 cars simultaneously.

Beyond their sleek, modern design and elegant aerodynamic profile, numerous enhancements significantly elevated the C-Type’s racing performance. Features such as innovative airflow technology and a lightweight aluminum body contributed to its dominance in 1953. Each C-Type model, crafted with unmatched craftsmanship and attention to detail, captures the essence of the masterpiece that reigned supreme at Le Mans in 1953—featuring a 3.4-liter straight-six engine producing 220 horsepower with triple Weber 40DCO3 carburetors, along with disc brakes that revolutionized racing performance and led to decisive victories.

The Jaguar D-Type remains one of the most celebrated and beautiful racing cars ever built, boasting a distinguished record in the toughest motorsport events and retaining its timeless elegance to this day.

Extensive research conducted by Jaguar Classic experts, combined with exclusive access to historical Jaguar engineering drawings and archives, ensures that each new D-Type is manufactured exactly to the original specifications set by race director Lofty England and his engineering team in the 1950s. Enthusiasts can choose between the 1955 model with a short nose or the 1956 model featuring a long nose.

Only a limited number of these two models will be available worldwide, priced starting at £1,500,000 for the C-Type and £1,750,000 for the D-Type.

Car collectors and potential owners can express interest at the Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors showrooms across the UAE.
