INEOS Automotive has launched the five-seater Double Cab Chassis variant, a versatile version of the Grenadier Quartermaster pickup. It is specifically designed for specialized vehicle modification companies and commercial vehicle body manufacturing worldwide.
The Chassis Cab model was developed alongside the Quartermaster Pick-up to deliver a unique combination of exceptional off-road capability and versatile transport and cargo applications, while maintaining modern driver-focused features such as comfort, safety, and luxury.
George Ratcliffe, Commercial Director at INEOS Automotive, commented: "During the first year following the launch of the Grenadier, we engaged with numerous specialized vehicle modification firms—particularly those serving emergency services such as fire, police, and coastal rescue. Launching the Quartermaster Chassis Cab was a natural step to extend our extensive off-road expertise into diverse commercial sectors requiring top-tier four-wheel-drive vehicles."
Thanks to the extended 3227 mm wheelbase of the Quartermaster platform—305 mm longer than the Grenadier Station Wagon—the Chassis Cab features a prominent rear chassis frame behind the passenger cabin, offering modification experts and customers broad customization potential supported by a 3500 kg towing capacity.
The Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab will be manufactured in Hammam-bach, France, at the INEOS Automotive plant acquired from Mercedes-Benz in January 2021. Production takes place on the same assembly line used for other Grenadier models. The Chassis Cab shares key components with the Quartermaster, including a double five-seat cabin, a full box-frame ladder chassis, high-load solid axles, a dual-speed transmission, and up to three differential locks. Power comes from a BMW 3.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, delivering all-wheel drive through an eight-speed automatic gearbox from ZF.
Ratcliffe added: "The Grenadier’s body-on-frame design offers tremendous flexibility for customization and specification adjustments. We recognize that our customers use these vehicles for both commercial and recreational purposes. The Chassis Cab serves as a highly adaptable foundation—ideal for agricultural applications, emergency response operations, and even adventure tourism, making it perfect as a mobile camping solution."
