Hyundai UAE Unveils Completely New Santa Fe

Updated 12:55 PM,Mar 15,2024

Hyundai UAE launched its completely new Santa Fe Sport Utility Vehicle in Dubai, under the concept of "Open to More," reflecting the radical shift in the new design-centric model.

For the first full redesign of the Santa Fe since 2018, Hyundai Motor adopted an unconventional design strategy by starting with the expanded rear door area to enhance enjoyment of outdoor spaces, then moving on to the exterior styling.

The new Santa Fe makes a strong first impression thanks to its high hood, H-shaped headlights, and sharply defined air intakes. The H-shaped front lights and the lower grille design draw inspiration from the Hyundai logo, creating a bold and distinctive look.

The rear view, highlighted by the wider rear hatch, enhances a sense of solidity while giving a cleaner, more sculpted appearance. The rear H-shaped lights harmonize with the front ones, giving the all-new Santa Fe a striking presence on the road.

The new interior design contrasts sharply with the exterior by emphasizing horizontal and vertical design elements, aligning with the overall mood and tone of the exterior.

The updated interior features practical comfort enhancements, such as dual wireless phone charging, delivering a premium user experience reminiscent of SUVs. The world’s first panoramic curved display in its class—featuring a 12.3-inch digital cluster and an infotainment system—improves driver visibility and creates a luxurious ambiance.

With an extended wheelbase, the all-new Santa Fe offers class-leading interior space. Fully foldable second- and third-row seats create a terrace-like rear area when the wide rear door is opened, allowing users to enjoy the outdoors with ease. This innovative design reflects Hyundai Motor’s use of big data to identify customer interest in current outdoor lifestyle trends, such as car camping and adventures requiring heavy gear.

The all-new Santa Fe delivers class-leading storage capacity and a wide rear door opening—ideal for urban lifestyles and impressive during outdoor use, offering ample room for everything from sports equipment to camping gear. The new model maximizes outdoor functionality by incorporating a hidden assist handle located on the C-pillar, improving rooftop access.

For the all-new Santa Fe, Hyundai prioritized living space by increasing legroom in the second and third rows. The SUV delivers the best comfort levels in its class for the third row (with reclining seats) and improved headroom based on customer feedback.

The second-row legroom for the gasoline-powered Santa Fe increased by 35 mm, reaching 1,075 mm. The hybrid version saw a 20 mm increase in second-row legroom, now at 1,055 mm. Third-row legroom increased by 15 mm to 761 mm.

The SUV provides the most spacious third row in its class. Third-row headroom rose from 69 mm to 958 mm. Third-row seat height increased by 30 mm to 282 mm. The third-row seats recline by 10 degrees—an improvement over the previous generation.

To enhance the user experience, the all-new Santa Fe includes advanced comfort and convenience features, many of which are either world-first, segment-leading, or industry pioneers.

The all-new Santa Fe introduces the world’s first multi-compartment dual console storage space accessible from both front and rear passengers.

When rear visibility is obstructed by cargo, the digital center mirror allows the driver to see behind the vehicle clearly, and also improves night visibility in darker conditions.

Other comfort features include high-speed dual wireless smartphone charging. A USB Type-C port (up to 27 watts) is also included.

The radar-based Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) system reminds the driver of any rear passengers as a safety precaution after the engine is turned off.

The all-new Santa Fe will be available with two powertrain options. A 2.5-liter gasoline engine (Theta III 2.5 GDI – 8AT) delivers a maximum output of 194 horsepower and peak torque of 25.1 kg·m.

Additionally, a 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (Theta III 2.5T GDI – 8DCT) offers a maximum output of 281 horsepower and peak torque of 43.0 kg·m.
