Hyundai Motor Middle East and Africa, headquartered in the region, has unveiled the completely redesigned Sonata, one of Hyundai’s most popular models in the area. The new vehicle combines sporty design elements, advanced technology features, and proven performance and efficiency, inspiring those who aren’t afraid to express their strong individuality.
The renowned midsize sedan now boasts a sleek four-door coupe-like appearance that highlights Hyundai’s "sensuous sportiness" design philosophy.
The new Sonata leads with a horizontal design language, integrating the signature smooth horizon lighting and wide-range hidden headlights for a futuristic look. The updated grille and larger air intakes create a more dynamic and assertive stance. Continuing the rear design theme, the new H-shaped taillights emphasize the car’s broad presence and high-tech character. The wing-like trunk cover and exhaust-style rear section further enhance its sporty appeal.
Inside, the new Sonata features a driver-centric interior with high-tech details tailored to modern lifestyles. The innovative floating cabin design creates a forward-looking atmosphere, complete with a three-spoke steering wheel, a curved panoramic display, and a touch-controlled climate control system.

Visual elements come together to create a striking impression, enhanced by design features that amplify the sense of interior space. A standout feature is the elegant, vertical electronic gear shift (SBW) with wire-based transmission, which offers far greater convenience than traditional gear selectors.
Seamless connectivity on the move is ensured through integration with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto®. A Qi wireless charging pad keeps smartphones powered, while a USB charging port is now available for rear passengers—acknowledging today’s connected travelers. At the heart of the AVN system lies a premium Bose audio setup with 12 speakers.
Technical specifications include a carefully selected range of gasoline engines offered across Middle Eastern and African markets, along with the addition of the G2.0 GDi HEV Hybrid option, enhancing both fuel efficiency and environmental friendliness.
The new transmission lineup includes the Smartstream G2.5 GDi engine, delivering 194 horsepower and 246 Newton meters of torque. The G2.0 GDi HEV Hybrid version produces 152 horsepower and 188 Newton meters of torque. The N Line variant features the powerful Smartstream G2.5 T-GDi engine, generating 290 horsepower and a peak torque of 422 Newton meters.
The new Sonata features an upgraded chassis with improved handling and driving dynamics. Updated front and rear suspension designs, along with refined steering calibration, focus on responsiveness. The result is a sedan that delivers sharp communication, agility, and comfort.
The new Sonata comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety systems, offering robust passenger protection and featuring advanced driver assistance technologies (ADAS) as part of Hyundai’s latest SmartSense innovations.
