Ford has announced the arrival of the next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor. Designed to conquer desert dunes, mountain trails, and everything in between, this new generation elevates off-road performance with a purpose-built design tailored for truck enthusiasts.
Developed by Ford Performance, the Ranger Raptor is the most capable variant in the upcoming Ranger lineup. By integrating the most advanced technologies from the new generation, it masterfully balances raw power, mechanical precision, and cutting-edge systems to deliver the most advanced Ranger ever built.
Equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine, the vehicle generates up to 392 horsepower at 5,650 rpm and 583 Newton-meters of torque at 3,500 rpm, meticulously tuned by Ford Performance.
The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, with each gear programmed using a unique calibration file. This setup delivers smooth acceleration across gravel, mud, and sand.
The next-generation Ranger Raptor features a uniquely reinforced body structure compared to the current model. It includes distinctive reinforcements on key components such as the C-pillar, roof-mounted cargo box, and spare wheel, along with specially designed rebound bumpers, shock towers, and a rear shock arch—all working together to ensure exceptional capability in extreme off-road conditions.
High-performance off-road vehicles like the Ranger Raptor require precise integration of operational components, prompting Ford to completely redesign the suspension system. New lightweight aluminum upper and lower control arms, combined with an extended-travel front and rear suspension system and an improved Watt’s linkage at the rear, enhance control and stability when driving at high speeds over rugged terrain.
FOX shocks are engineered specifically for the Raptor, with tuning and development carried out by Ford Performance using a combination of computer-aided engineering and real-world testing. Spring rates, ride height, valve settings, and ride comfort zones have been optimized to achieve the ideal balance between comfort, control, and stability on both paved roads and rough terrain.
For the first time, the Ranger Raptor features a fully variable, electronically controlled dual-range four-wheel-drive system with a new transfer case, along with selectable front and rear differential locks—features that will be highly valued by off-road adventurers.
With up to seven drive modes available, the next-generation Ranger Raptor can adapt to a wide range of challenges—from smooth highways to mud, rocks, and deep ruts. One of these modes, “Baja,” is specifically designed for high-speed off-road driving. In this mode, electronic systems are automatically adjusted to maximize performance.
On the exterior, Matrix LED headlights and daytime running LEDs enhance lighting performance to new levels. These lights feature dynamic curve illumination, glare-free high beams, and automatic dynamic leveling, providing safer, more effective visibility for the Ranger Raptor driver and oncoming traffic.
The truck offers two distinct 17-inch wheel designs, one featuring a beadlock option, both wrapped in BFGoodrich® all-terrain KO2® tires. Functional vents, aerodynamic elements, and robust side steps made from newly designed cast aluminum enhance both the truck's appearance and functionality. The rear LED lighting complements the front design, while the refined gray rear bumper includes integrated step plates and a high-mounted pull handle to improve the vehicle’s departure angle.
Inside, the design continues to emphasize high-performance off-road capability, complementing the bold exterior inspired by natural energy. The cabin features entirely new sport seats inspired by jet aircraft, offering greater comfort and support during high-speed cornering.
The Ranger Raptor boasts a fully digital cockpit, including a high-resolution 12.4-inch digital display and a central 12-inch touch screen featuring the latest Ford SYNC® 4Av infotainment system. It supports wireless connectivity for smartphones running Apple and Android operating systems. The Bang & Olufsen® vi sound system delivers premium audio for your adventures.
