Ford is once again capturing the hearts of sports car enthusiasts worldwide with the launch of the completely new seventh-generation Mustang, the most exhilarating and dynamic yet. It features a cockpit inspired by fighter jets, advanced new turbocharged engines, and an aerodynamic exterior design that remains timeless.
Beneath the sculpted silhouette of the seventh generation, the cockpit boasts the most technologically advanced interior ever seen in a Mustang, fully centered around the driver. The fighter jet-inspired cabin offers two flowing, curved displays that can be independently customized for quick access to the information the driver wants or needs.
By leveraging modern 3D tools from Unreal Engine, used in contemporary video games, the 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster can display various animated designs and new visual layouts tailored to different driving modes.
The standard interior features full fabric upholstery, with optional suede-like vinyl inserts and black seat belts. Premium trims include updated leather stitching across the dashboard and door panels. EcoBoost models feature Ford’s innovative "ActiveX" synthetic leather with multiple color options, while GT trims come with premium leather seating enhancements.
Higher trim levels offer a fully redesigned leather steering wheel, along with optional colored stitching and prominent perforations on the seats, complemented by coordinated, asymmetrical accent lines on the seat belts.
The B&O sound system has been specially tuned to enhance the Mustang ownership experience. Customers can seamlessly share their final driving playlist via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both fully compatible with SYNC 4.
The seventh generation adds a modern, sculpted edge to its heritage-inspired design, targeting Mustang fans more precisely than ever.
A low horizontal hood emphasizes the front-end presence, while the upper grille design draws inspiration from the original 1960s styling. The signature Tri-Bar LED headlights continue to highlight the classic Mustang lighting identity. The sleek roofline, wide stance, and short rear deck align with the proportions of the first-generation model, while extended rear lines convey authentic Mustang power.
Each Mustang model features a unique front-end design. The GT distinguishes itself from EcoBoost variants with larger, more aggressive air intakes, enhancing airflow and reflecting increased performance. Aerodynamics have been further refined with new engine cover vents and a redesigned front splitter.
The Mustang’s appearance, driving dynamics, and distinctive sound are key elements that draw customers to take the driver’s seat and hit the road. The all-new Mustang delivers a more thrilling driving experience powered by advanced, next-generation engine technologies.
The Mustang GT now features an upgraded 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine. The fourth-generation 5.0-liter unit has been engineered to deliver the highest naturally aspirated horsepower output ever achieved in a Mustang GT, thanks to an innovative dual-air intake system and a dual-exhaust body design, which reduces throttling losses by enabling higher airflow rates.
Ford has introduced a new-generation manual transmission, with the 5.0-liter V8 continuing to offer a standard six-speed manual gearbox. A ten-speed automatic transmission from Ford is also available, instantly adapting gear-shifting patterns to match the selected driving mode.
Customers can enjoy spirited driving with improved fuel efficiency by choosing the EcoBoost model, powered by a brand-new 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
The manual-transmission Mustang GT includes a standard rev-matching system that maintains optimal engine RPM during clutch engagement, ensuring peak torque is preserved between gear shifts—offering greater precision, excitement, and refinement.
The world’s first electronic drift brake system in its class marks a major advancement in the new model, showcasing the rear-wheel-drive Mustang’s drifting capability with visual flair and traditional mechanical handbrake functionality. Electronic parking brakes are also optimized for performance packages across all Mustang models, designed to help beginners learn and improve drifting skills while offering experienced drivers a race-ready setup.
The all-new Mustang comes equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360™ features, including speed sign recognition, adaptive cruise control with Stop-and-Go, lane centering assist, vehicle guidance assist, and reverse braking assist.
The all-new Mustang will begin sales in the United States starting this summer of 2023 and will be assembled at Ford’s Flat Rock plant in Michigan.
