Ford Mustang, celebrating its 59th anniversary, has been recognized as the world's best-selling sports car over the past decade, according to a Ford analysis of registration data from S&P Global Mobility.
The United States leads global demand for the Mustang, accounting for 78% of worldwide sales, based on internal Ford data. Other markets showing growth in Mustang sales in 2022 include Germany (17.0%), the UK (14.4%), Switzerland (14.9%), and the Middle East (7.4%).
The all-new seventh-generation 2024 Ford Mustang adds another chapter to the iconic model’s legacy, combining striking design, powerful sound, and enduring appeal that have defined the world’s top-selling sports car over the last ten years. The Mustang offers diverse options across price points and performance levels—whether convertible or coupe, equipped with a V8 engine or turbocharged four-cylinder, and available with manual or automatic transmission.
Two new engines are introduced: a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine and the high-performance 5.0-liter V8 Coyote engine, the most powerful yet in the GT variant. A completely new remote start feature allows users to warm up the engine remotely using the key fob. Additionally, a new electronic drift brake system helps novice drivers quickly master driving dynamics, akin to professional skills demonstrated by young talents like Fon Gittin Junior.
The Mustang Dark Horse ™ expands the lineup as the first performance-focused model since the introduction of the Mustang Bullitt in 2001. Designed to set a new benchmark for street and track performance, it features a specially tuned 5.0-liter V8 engine—the most powerful among all 5.0-liter V8s ever launched—delivering 500 horsepower.
The Mustang Mach-E ® electric SUV represents the electrified evolution of the Mustang family and is now available in 39 countries, having recently launched in Taiwan and Australia. Since production began, over 150,000 units of the Mustang Mach-E have been manufactured in just under two years—a significant milestone. Ford plans to scale its electric vehicle output to 600,000 units annually by late 2023 and exceed 2 million units yearly by 2026.
