Ford has announced the launch of the new F-150 Tremor pickup truck, timed to coincide with the desert adventure and off-road driving season. The 2022 model combines enhanced all-terrain driving upgrades, making it ideal for tackling sand dunes while delivering impressive towing and payload capabilities that meet the expectations of off-road enthusiasts across the region.
Like all F-150 trucks, the Tremor is built on a high-strength steel frame and features a body made from military-grade, high-strength aluminum alloy. The off-road-focused F-150 Tremor comes equipped with SuperCrew cab configuration, a 5.5-foot bed, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and standard four-wheel drive. Available in various trim levels—from base to mid and fully loaded—the F-150 offers a wide range of standard and optional features. All trims share core suspension systems designed to balance performance and off-road capability.
The F-150 Tremor is fitted with new 32-inch all-terrain General Grabber tires mounted on 18-inch matte-finish metal wheels, providing increased ground clearance and an additional inch of front lift for greater confidence on rough terrain. A bash plate with a Raptor-inspired design further protects the front-end components during challenging off-road conditions. Together, these modifications deliver a 27.8-degree approach angle, a 21.6-degree breakover angle, and 10.9 inches of ground clearance. The Tremor also gains an extra 1.5 inches of total rear articulation and one additional inch up front.
This version boasts a maximum towing capacity of 4,944 kg, meaning the F-150 Tremor can tow all kinds of recreational equipment—whether a sand buggy, family trailer, boat, or even a small fleet of utility vehicles.
The F-150 Tremor meets owners’ daily needs throughout the week, allowing them to easily load off-road motorcycles or quad bikes for sand dune adventures, supported by a generous payload capacity of up to 855 kg. This full payload can be outfitted with camping gear, enabling customers to set up camp wherever they choose.
The 2022 F-150 Tremor also features Ford’s off-road-specific Trail Toolbox—a suite of advanced off-road assistance features. The Trail One-Pedal Drive system simplifies off-road driving by combining throttle and brake control into a single pedal. On rugged trails, drivers typically need to manage both pedals simultaneously, carefully modulating throttle and brakes to move forward without damage. This system streamlines the process: pressing the accelerator engages the throttle, and releasing it gradually applies braking proportional to how quickly the driver lifts their foot.
In addition to hill descent control, the Tremor includes Trail Control, which functions like cruise control for off-road use. Drivers select a desired speed, and the truck automatically manages acceleration and braking, allowing them to focus entirely on steering through difficult off-road terrain.
