Dodge, a leading American automaker, has announced the limited production of the "Last Call" lineup for current Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger models, marking the end of an era for the legendary V8 HEMI® engine. The 2023 "Last Call" collection will feature distinctive color options, including the return of several historic hues and a diverse range of exterior paint choices, offering customers expanded selection. Additionally, Dodge will introduce new equipment packages not previously available, such as the GT Blacktop package for both Charger and Challenger, the GT Hemi Orange package for the Charger, and the Scat Pack Widebody package for the Charger—available for the first time in the region.
These special editions honor the iconic legacy of Dodge’s performance vehicles, with a commemorative plaque bearing the "Last Call" logo installed beneath the hood of all 2023 Charger and Challenger models. The limited-edition variants launching in the Middle East include Charger/Challenger Swinger, Charger King Daytona, Challenger Black Ghost, and Challenger Shakedown. These models embody the essence of American muscle cars—powerful engines, striking design, and unique specifications.
The V8 HEMI engine has long been a pioneer in its class and a defining characteristic of American performance vehicles for decades. For Dodge, it has remained a symbol of power and passion across generations, continuing to capture the hearts of car enthusiasts worldwide. Renowned for its immense power, distinctive sound, and unique engineering, the HEMI engine remains an icon.
Stewart Lory, Head of Brands Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram Trucks at Stellantis Middle East, said: "This year marks the beginning of a new chapter in our brand’s history—saying farewell to an era defined by innovation and leadership, and stepping into a future of electric mobility. For years, the V8 HEMI engine was the beating heart of the Dodge Challenger and Charger, serving as a primary source of their legendary performance. Through the limited "Last Call" models, we aim to celebrate this heritage while pushing these iconic vehicles to new levels of power and performance."
Charger/Challenger Swinger
The original Dodge Dart Swinger was a member of Dodge’s famed "Scat Pack" group, known for delivering impressive power in a compact form. It featured standout styling elements such as green exterior and interior color combinations, gold accents, and wood-trimmed interiors. The 2023 modern reinterpretations—Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Swinger and Dodge Charger Scat Pack Swinger—are inspired by their heritage in both exterior and interior design. Approximately 1,000 units will be produced globally.
Charger King Daytona
The 2023 Charger King Daytona pays tribute to a legendary figure from West Coast drag racing in the 1960s and 1970s: William "Big Willie" Robinson, who named his 1969 Dodge Charger "King Daytona." He used it not only to win races on the track but also to keep competitors on the track and off the streets. The 2023 Charger King Daytona honors the original with a powerful engine upgrade to 807 horsepower, a vibrant "Go Mango" exterior finish, and unique orange interior details. Around 350 units will be made worldwide.
Challenger Black Ghost
The 2023 Challenger Black Ghost special edition captures the vehicle’s storied past with a sleek black and chrome appearance, including authentic-looking black vinyl roof graphics resembling crocodile skin. Built on the Challenger SRT® Hellcat Redeye Widebody platform, it features a boosted engine output of 807 horsepower. Approximately 400 units will be produced globally.
Challenger Shakedown
The 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown honors the original Dodge Shakedown Challenger, which caused a stir when unveiled at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. The 2023 version follows the original’s aesthetic with a bold black-and-red interior and exterior blend that balances modernity with classic style. Around 1,000 units will be produced worldwide.
