Audi Middle East has unveiled the highly anticipated AI:CON vehicle at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. The car showcases the pinnacle of pioneering design and innovative technology, positioning itself at the forefront of future luxury autonomous saloons. With its exceptional features and forward-looking innovations, the AI:CON sets new benchmarks in automotive design and reflects Audi’s commitment to shaping the future of mobility.
The AI:CON is the third and most recent addition to a series of leading experimental vehicles presented by Audi at the Museum of the Future this year, following the earlier unveilings of the AI:RACE and S1 Hoonitron. This collaboration, now in its second year, aims to showcase the future of mobility through Audi’s experimental fleet for museum visitors. Additional future concept cars are scheduled to be revealed later this year.
The AI:CON embodies Audi’s dedication to innovation and breaking traditional boundaries, seamlessly blending elegant design, advanced technology, and comfortable mobility. The four-door, four-seater luxury saloon features an exterior and interior design that will serve as a benchmark for future vehicles for decades to come. Its bold aesthetic is defined by sleek lines, while the striking single-frame grille with a reversed hexagonal design gives it a dynamic, futuristic look. Instead of conventional headlights and lighting units, Audi employs fully digital display surfaces composed of triangular segments containing hundreds of pixels, enabling versatile, dynamic lighting effects and designs.
The interior of the AI:CON is crafted with premium materials and offers passengers a spacious, open feel due to the absence of a steering wheel and traditional dashboard. The seats feature a lounge-inspired design with cushion-like upholstery in light colors. Enhanced by glowing LED light strips within the cabin, touch-sensitive, customizable controls, and advanced interfaces, the vehicle elevates the travel experience, allowing passengers to work, connect, or relax during their journey, supported by seamless connectivity and innovative technologies.
Equipped with a high-performance electric drivetrain featuring four electric motors—one on each axle—the AI:CON delivers a total output of 260 kilowatts and 550 Newton-meters of torque, complemented by Audi’s electronically variable quattro all-wheel drive system. Prioritizing efficiency and sustainability, the vehicle benefits from lightweight construction and improved aerodynamics, enabling a range of 700 to 800 kilometers on a single charge. Additionally, the 800-volt high-voltage system enables rapid charging, allowing the battery to reach up to 80% capacity in under 30 minutes.
The AI:CON offers a comprehensive suite of advanced communication and entertainment features. Passengers can enjoy streaming movies, browsing the internet, making video calls, and engaging on social media. Front-seat occupants can use the large central screen or project virtual images onto the windshield. The panoramic glass roof panels can block sunlight and are electronically adjustable in transparency. Passengers can also customize the color of the embedded OLED lighting within the cabin. With all these features, the AI:CON delivers an unprecedented level of driving pleasure, enabling passengers to work, communicate, relax, or even sleep safely during autonomous operation.
