2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Unveiled: All-Electric SUV Launch

Updated 05:22 PM,Jul 22,2022

Chevrolet has unveiled the all-electric 2024 Blazer EV, expanding its growing lineup of electric vehicles (EVs) and making EV ownership more accessible and seamless. The new model delivers a strong push into the rapidly growing midsize electric crossover segment.

Customers now have multiple trim levels and a range of driving ranges available, including an estimated range of 320 miles on a full charge1, along with options for front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive—offering greater flexibility to meet individual needs while delivering a smooth, intuitive electric driving experience designed to complement nearly any lifestyle.

Available trims include 1LT, 2LT, RS, and the first high-performance electric SS model ever from Chevrolet. Additionally, a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) variant is offered, specifically tailored for law enforcement fleet use.

The Blazer EV is built on General Motors' innovative Ultium platform, featuring a dynamic, athletic design that builds upon the distinctive look introduced in 2018 with the gasoline-powered Blazer, enhanced by performance-inspired styling elements drawn from the iconic Camaro and Corvette.

Engineered to deliver the signature performance associated with the legendary SS (Super Sport) badge, the Blazer EV SS stands out as the most powerful model in the lineup. It features a specially developed high-output all-wheel-drive system capable of generating up to 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque, paired with a unique WOW (Wide Open Watts) mode that enables acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds2, according to General Motors estimates.

The bold, dynamic, and sporty design of the 2024 all-electric Blazer EV reflects Chevrolet’s heritage of high-performance engineering, creating a visually striking presence unlike anything else in its class.

All trims share a strong, athletic side profile enabled by the Ultium platform, characterized by sleek, close-set body lines and a high-energy visual rhythm. Prominent air intakes on the front fenders highlight Chevrolet’s deep roots in motorsports.

Each trim level offers a distinct character. The 1LT trim features a monochromatic appearance with standard 19-inch wheels, while the RS trim adds a more aggressive look with a black grille, black accents, and standard 21-inch wheels. The SS trim takes bold styling further with a unique front grille, dual-tone paint scheme, black roof and A-pillars, and standard 22-inch wheels, along with additional premium features.

Front lighting dynamically responds to the vehicle's charge level, with synchronized light sequences increasing in speed and intensity as battery charge rises.

Inside, the cabin showcases a modern, sophisticated design language. Drawing inspiration from Chevrolet’s sports car heritage and performance legacy, features such as a flat-bottom steering wheel on RS and SS trims and turbine-inspired vents reflect this lineage.

The centerpiece of the interior is the large, 17.7-inch color touchscreen display, tilted toward the driver and serving as the central control hub for infotainment, connectivity, and vehicle settings. Complementing it is a 11-inch color digital driver information display, also tilted, located within the instrument cluster.

The Blazer EV also includes the latest Chevrolet driver assistance technologies, such as automatic rear braking and advanced parking assist. It comes equipped with the full suite of Chevrolet Safety Assist features, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, pedestrian-specific frontal braking, following distance indicator, lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning, and IntelliBeam adaptive high-beam headlights.

For charging performance, the Blazer EV features a built-in 11.5 kW alternating current (AC) charger for convenient home or public charging, plus fast-charging capability via direct current (DC) public stations at up to 190 kW. This allows for approximately 78 miles of added range in just 10 minutes3.

The Blazer EV will be manufactured at General Motors’ production facility in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico—the same plant currently producing the conventional Blazer.
